St. Louis Catholic Church is a parish dedicated to fostering saints through every means possible - the liturgy, the sacraments, prayer, tradition, intentional discipleship, and warm fellowship. Founded in 1954 as a diocesan High School and then expanded in the 1960s into a parish with a parochial school, St. Louis Catholic Church and its school, Bishop Louis Reicher, have grown and developed over the years into a vibrant and faithful community grounded in communion with our Lord, His Church, and one another. We invite every member to foster saints through our four characteristics of what it means to be a parishioner: We invite you to Worship Here, Serve Here, Give Here, and Build Community Here.
With a unique founding as a school first, our parish takes its cues from its founder, who ruled the Kingdom of France as a faithful father, desiring to foster his nation towards holiness and health in the same way a teacher forms a child to be more. In the same way, we feel called to accompany each individual in their walk with Christ by taking the time to patiently help grace bear fruit in those we serve.
For a stalk to grow or a flower to open there must be time that cannot be forced; nine months must go by for the birth of a child; to write a book or compose music often years must be dedicated to patient research...To find the mystery there must be patience, interior purification, silence, waiting
Yes! At St. Louis we believe that we are all made to be saints. To become a saint, to live forever with God in heaven and to experience as much of that life with God here on earth is the fulfillment of all desire. This will look differently for everyone but there is a common call to holiness and we desire to foster that possibility in all who call this parish home.
Devotion must be practiced differently by the artisan, by the prince, by the widow...and its practice must also be adapted to the strengths, occupations and duties of each state.... It is a mistake to want to banish the devout life from the barracks of soldiers, from the workshop of artisans..., from the homes of married people... Wherever we are, we can and should aspire to the perfect life.
Right after all of the sacraments, one of my greatest joys is greeting parishioners after Mass, hearing your joys, praying with you, offering blessings, and listening to what has wounded your hearts. To bring and to be Christ to you, in any situation, as best I can, is the most life-giving and transforming part of life.
