As a parish, we are overjoyed to bring the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, to our parish and school this August for the academic year of 2021-2022. They will renew the rich legacy of sisters in our community and bring with them joy for the Gospel! To say that we're excited is an understatement. God has truly blessed us!
The parish is currently buying a nearby home for the sisters to live in temporarily while we make preparations to build them an on-campus convent later. Providentially, generous donors have helped us secure the house and to make initial preparations for the sisters. But, we still need your help to make the preparations complete. An assortment of renovations needs to be made to transform the family home into a convent. These renovations will make the house a place that sisters can not only live in but thrive because it will be better suited for their way of life.
Admittedly, we are on a tight timeline and need to spend the month of June and July working as fast as we can!
We are currently asking for monetary donations to help with the expenses associated with the renovation and remodeling to better transform the house to the demands of a convent, furnishing the house, and to secure reliable transportation. While we appreciate and are grateful for offers to donate gently used furniture, we will need to purchase new furniture to respect the sister's needs for uniform noble simplicity, which will mean bulk purchases of similar type furnishings throughout the temporary convent. Below you'll find a gift registry to help us "shower" the sisters with housewarming gifts.
As we approach Mother's Day, we couldn't be more excited about making this temporary house a home for our new spiritual mothers. Please consider donating to help our new spiritual mothers in honor of your mother. God has blessed us abundantly and we only want to respond with gratitude by making this home ready.
