Greeters welcome all people – parishioners or visitors, Catholics or non-Catholics – to Mass. They stand outside the church and invite every person to come inside to participate.
They should have excellent people-skills and be friendly, cheerful, outgoing, gracious, and – above all else – welcoming to anyone and everyone who comes to St. Louis. They should embody and embrace the word “hospitality.”
Ushers work inside the church to welcome everyone, find seats for them before and during Mass, take up collections, and guide participants to Communion. They are also attentive to the needs of parishioners, answer questions, and respond to any special situations that may arise during Mass.
They are friendly, outgoing, and helpful so that every individual feels comfortable and welcome. They should also be knowledgeable about the church, its layout, and its activities.
